Dr. Shakour Abuzneid leads the Computer Science and Cybersecurity programs at Roger Williams University as Director and Professor. His academic and research career spans network security, cloud computing, wireless communications, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Dr. Abuzneid has a significant history of academic leadership. Before RWU, he directed the Cybersecurity program at St. Cloud State University. During his tenure at the University of Bridgeport, he was the founding Director of the Emerging Communications Technologies Center (ECT), Dean for International Initiatives, and Director of Systems and Engineering Laboratories.
A Senior Member of IEEE and an IEEE Wireless Communication Professional (WCP), his current research explores intrusion detection systems using machine learning, wireless sensor networks, and secure IoT design. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering and has authored over 50 scholarly publications.
