The Home Office is planning to ban hackers from using the internet.
Under proposals outlined in its green paper, "New Powers AgainstOrganised and Financial Crime", law enforcement agencies and the courtscould hand out Serious Crime Prevention Orders to spammers and hackerswhen police lack enough evidence of wrongdoing. It is hoped that theseorders will be given in civil rather than criminal courts, where thestandard of proof is lower. Suspected hackers given the special ordermight have to give police employment details, have their credit cardsstopped or be prevented from sending out spam.
