Unfortunately, we know the Ohio state intern - the most immediate victim of the June data breach that compromised the personal information of 1.3 million state residents – was fired from his job, aside from having his car broken into.
His supervisor, Jerry Miller, payroll team leader for the state Department of Administrative Services’ Administrative Knowledge System (ERP) project, was informed by state officials on Sept. 26 that his punishment was to surrender a week of future vacation time.
Miller accepted the penalty, according to this report in Computerworld.
The data breach may cost the state upwards of $3 million.
