Norway's Police Security Service has said several of that nation's government agencies have been hacked by a foreign intelligence group.
USA Today reported that the police believe email accounts belonging to the Norwegian Labor Party, defense and foreign ministries have been targeted by the Russian group Cozy Bear, the same hacking ensemble that attacked the Democratic National Committee. Other Norwegian entities that also suffered attacks were the Police Security Service itself, Norway's Radiation Protection Authority and an unnamed university.
Norwegian authorities said the intrusions were attempted via spearphishing attacks and might have been launched due to worsening relations between Norway and Russia.
