Microsoft said today it is investigating a publicly posted, proof-of-concept code exploiting a DoS vulnerability related to the ADODB.Connection.ADODB is a Microsoft platform component that allows developers to write programs to access data, regardless of the database holding that information.The bug affects Internet Explorer 6, according to a SecurityFocus advisory.No further information was available on how the vulnerability works."Once we have completed the investigation and understand if there is a threat to customers, we will take the appropriate action to protect and provide guidance - as required," said a Microsoft Security Response Center blog post today.Click here to email Dan Kaplan.
