Microsoft and SAFLINK team up on homeland security

Microsoft and SAFLINK on Wednesday announced a partnership to develop homeland security solutions.

The companies said they are combining their strengths in enterprise application software and biometric technologies to develop scalable solutions tailored for border control and identity management projects in the Department of Homeland Security.

The solutions will involve biometrics, smart cards, and physical security controls, acccording to Mark Belk, Microsoft homeland security chief architect.
