Manfra leaving CISA

Cybersecurity expert Jeanette Manfra will leave her post as assistant director for cybersecurity at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

The Department of Homeland Security veteran, who served three presidents, will exit at the end of the year.

Manfra led the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s Cybersecurity Division at a pivotal time,” said Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Noting that two years ago “Manfra took on the enormous challenge of assessing how DHS could best partner with State and local election officials to improve the delivery of cybersecurity services to protect election infrastructure, Thompson lauded her for playing “an important role in advancing the cybersecurity posture of Federal networks and has helped build stronger, more productive relationships with owners and operators of critical infrastructure to ensure that the Federal government and private sector work together closely to make the cyber ecosystem more secure.”

The committee chairman praised Mafra for “serving as a steady hand through CISA’s transitioned to become an operational component, staying above the political fray to work with Members on both sides of the aisle to ensure CISA will be well-positioned to carry out its critical cybersecurity mission as cyber threats continue to evolve.”
