E-voting company hacked

A US developer of secure electronic voting, VoteHere, has admitted that a hacker broke into its systems and accessed internal documents.

A US developer of secure electronic voting, VoteHere, has admitted that a hacker broke into its systems and accessed internal documents.

Chief executive officer for the company Jim Adler confirmed that the intrusion could be related to recent controversy over the security of online voting.

The company declined to comment on details of the documents accessed and the hacker, but said that the information had passed onto the authorities.

Adler said the break-in did not affect the integrity of VoteHere's technology.
