»Mohan Sadashiva (left) has joined Narus, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Big Data analytics security solutions provider, as senior vice president of product management. Sadashiva will support continued innovation at the company using his marketing experience in large-scale software products and cloud services. Prior to his new role, Sadashiva served as the vice president and general manager of the cloud services broker business unit at Intel, through its acquisition of Aepona, a cloud-based application programming interface (API) service provider headquartered in the U.K.
»Hesham Eassa has joined Zscaler, a San Jose, Calif.-based cloud security company, as vice president of global cloud operations. Eassa will help manage the company's Direct-to-Cloud Network, a service which enables secure internet and cloud application access for organizations. Another new hire, Abhay Solapurkar, has joined the security firm as vice president of global support services, where he will lead the company's efforts in servicing customer support needs.
»Charlie Benway (below) has joined the Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC) as executive director. Benway takes on the leadership role at the nonprofit consortium, which supports threat information-sharing among its industry, university and government members and promotes the development of programs that address security concerns. The ACSC's goal is also to establish New England as a major region for research, education and thought leadership in the cyber security realm.
»Victoria Espinel has joined the Washington, D.C.-based Business Software Alliance (BSA), an anti-piracy trade group that advocates on behalf of its members, as president and CEO. Espinel previously served in the Obama administration as the first U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator. Espinel also served as senior counsel in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and later as assistant U.S. trade representative for intellectual property and innovation at USTR.
»HyTrust, a Mountain View, Calif.-based cloud security automation company, has secured $18.5 million in funding led by Intel Capital, Fortinet, VMware and In-Q-Tel. The funding will support the company's growth and operations, primarily in sales and marketing initiatives, and promote development of its cloud security and role-based monitoring (RBM) services. Granite Ventures, Trident Capital, Cisco and Epic Ventures also participated in the round of funding.
»AlienVault, a San Mateo, Calif.-based security company, has secured $30 million in funding led by GGV Capital, a Menlo Park, Calif.-based venture capital firm. The funding will expand AlienVault's international reach and support continued development of the company's Open Threat Exchange threat intelligence-sharing service.
»Arxan Technologies, a Bethesda, Md.-based mobile app security firm, has partnered with Neohapsis, a Chicago-based mobile and cloud security company, to provide solutions for high-value mobile apps and enterprise data. Through the partnership, the firms will integrate Neohapsis and Arxan's software development resources to produce an end-to-end application security solution for organizations.
