Additional benefits provided by the FortiGate-310B include top rated port density of 10 gigabit Ethernet ports, with additional four gigabit ports made available through an optional Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) module. The FortiASIC NP2 Network Processor that accelerates the FortiGate-310Bs ports offers wire speed firewall throughput regardless of packet size. This offers a full 1Gbps firewall on each of the eight accelerated interfaces for a total of 8 Gbps firewall. IPsec VPN is also accelerated to near wire speed on each port, offering 6Gbps IPsec VPN.
