Authentica expands DRM suite

Share

Authentica expanded its Digital Rights Management (DRM) offerings for the enterprise with the release of Secure Office, which allows users to securely collaborate on native Microsoft Office content.

Secure Office gives businesses control over Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel files distributed inside or outside corporate boundaries. The software lets companies control who can access files and what they can do with the files. User permissions can be changed on the fly.

"Fortress security no longer cuts it," Authentica CEO John Bruce said in an interview. "Increasingly you have to take your assets out of the fortress."

With Secure Office, files are encrypted and security policies applied wherever a company's data is distributed. Companies can automatically delete files wherever they are located.

The product will be available in March with prices starting at $50,000.
