2026 SC Award winner Veeam — Best Business Continuity/Disaster/Ransomware Recovery Solution

Veeam was named the winner in the 2026 SC Awards Best Business Continuity/Disaster/Ransomware Recovery Solution category for its Veeam Data Platform (VDP), a unified platform designed to help organizations protect, recover and maintain access to critical data amid cyberattacks, outages and other disruptions.

The category recognizes technologies that strengthen backup, disaster recovery and business continuity strategies as organizations face increasingly frequent cyber incidents, nation-state threats and operational disruptions.

Veeam Data Platform delivers advanced data protection and ransomware resilience across physical, virtual and cloud environments. The platform combines traditional backup and recovery capabilities with security-driven features aimed at helping enterprises detect threats early and recover clean, trusted data quickly.

A key enhancement highlighted in the latest version of the platform is Recon Scanner 3.0, which provides real-time operational threat visibility and flags suspicious activity across monitored endpoints, such as brute-force attempts, unusual file behavior and unexpected network connections. The release also introduced a malware analysis AI agent designed to automatically detect, classify and report malicious activity while providing guided remediation to support secure recovery.

The platform’s architecture emphasizes immutable backups, strong security controls and broad integration with enterprise security and IT service management tools. Veeam reports that more than 550,000 organizations worldwide rely on its data resilience technologies.

Manoj Yerrasani, one of the judges for this year's SC Awards, said the platform stands out for combining core recovery capabilities with proactive security features.
