Legion Security is the winner of the 2026 SC Award for Most Promising Early-Stage Startup for its AI-driven security operations platform designed to scale high-quality threat investigations and reduce the manual burden on SOC analysts.SOCs face a growing imbalance: alert volumes continue to rise while experienced analysts remain scarce. Legion addresses this challenge by scaling human expertise rather than replacing it.The company’s AI SOC analyst operates directly inside the analyst’s browser and existing tools, observing how experienced investigators triage and analyze incidents. By learning workflows, decision logic and contextual judgment from real investigations, Legion converts that knowledge into repeatable AI-driven processes. This approach allows the platform to automate repetitive investigative steps while keeping human analysts in control of final decisions.Legion emerged from stealth in July 2025 and has grown rapidly, increasing revenue fourfold since launch while working with several large enterprise customers, including Fortune 500 organizations across insurance, finance and retail. The company is backed by investors including Coatue, Accel and Picture Capital, along with angel investors from companies such as Wiz and CrowdStrike.Early deployments have demonstrated significant operational gains. In one case, a multinational insurance provider used Legion to automate Tier 1 alert investigations, eliminating roughly 90% of manual effortwithin the first 30 days.“[Legion] emphasizes learning from actual workflows/decision logic (the ‘how’ behind good investigations),” said SC Awards judge Dr. Ed Harris, global director of information security at Mauser Packaging Solutions, adding that this approach “avoids common pitfalls of other AI SOC tools.”
