The UK domain registration site 123 Reg was hit with a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, its second in six months, late last week.
123 Reg began tweeting at around noon on January 6 that it was experiencing a DDoS attack and then followed up with several additional tweets saying it was attempting to mitigate the problem. About an hour later the company reported the problem was resolved.
We believe a DDoS attack has just started, we are working out remediation options and impact at present. Updates to follow.

123 Reg did not give out any information regarding the size of the attack. In August 2016 it was hit with a 30GB per second attack which knocked 123 Reg and many of its customers offline for about 30 minutes.
