- Configuresoft, a systems management provider, has promoted Mark Ruport to CEO. The former president and chief operating officer, Ruport joined the company last August and now will focus on business development. Top priorities include adding new products, expanding distribution channels and creating strategic alliances with other companies.
- TriCipher has appointed John De Santis to CEO, president and chairman of the board. Prior to joining the risk-based future proof authentication provider, De Santis served as president and CEO of endpoint security firm Sygate Technologies. He will work closely with company founder Ravi Ganesan to increase innovation through strategic partnerships and to leverage TriCipher's intellectual property, which includes 10 patents.
- Howard Schmidt has been elected president of the International Board of Directors of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA). The former White House cybersecurity adviser now serves as president and CEO of R&H Consulting and chief security strategist for US-CERT.
- West Coast Labs has appointed Peter Stephenson to head its new Auburn Hills, Mich.-based facility for security product testing, validation and certification.
