Unsanctioned AI models, tools, and autonomous agents are increasingly embedding themselves in business workflows—often without approvals, logging, or controls. Shadow AI is spreading across organizations and roles and introducing real data exposure and governance risks, especially when employees use their own AI tools. These AI-driven workflows are multiplying faster than security teams can track, creating blind spots that attackers can exploit and reshaping the threat landscape faster than defenders can adapt. Welcome to the age of shadow AIT.

In this SC Media webcast, Adrian Sanabria and Sumo Logic experts unpack how to regain control when AI innovation outpaces visibility. Discover how real-time observability, log-centric analytics, and automation can uncover hidden AI activity, reduce noise, and accelerate response.

Event Speakers

Chas Clawson
VP of Security Strategy at Sumo Logic

Chas Clawson is the VP of Security Strategy at Sumo Logic, where he helps organizations rethink how they secure modern workloads in an increasingly AI-driven world. A technologist with over 20 years of experience, Chas has consulted Fortune 500 companies and federal agencies alike — from architecting the Department of Commerce’s ESOC SIEM solution to conducting offensive security exercises as part of the NSA Red Team.

Before joining Sumo, he spent years helping both public and private sector teams modernize their SOCs, and today he channels that experience into shaping the future of cloud-native security and AI-driven defense. When he’s not talking about security strategy, you’ll likely find him teaching cyber courses at the University of Maryland Global Campus — or trying to keep up with his five energetic kids at home (a different kind of threat landscape).

David Girvin
Senior Technical Marketing Engineer at Sumo Logic

David has built offensive security programs at places like 1Password and Red Canary. Now a technical advocate and AI researcher at Sumo Logic, David’s current work focuses on agentic AI, MCP and how traditional security models break when software makes its own decisions. He pretends to be a podcast host on Masters of Data and an author of multiple white papers and blogs that no one reads. In his spare time he is surfing, foiling, doing BJJ and hiding from his four kids.

Adrian Sanabria
Principal Researcher at The Defenders Initiative

Adrian is an outspoken researcher that doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable truths. He loves to write about the security industry, tell stories, and still sees the glass as half full.
