Patrick Roland

Patrick Roland is Director of Vigilance (MSSP) at Summit 7, where he leads the firm’s managed security services for the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). A Navy veteran with over 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, systems architecture, and operational leadership, Patrick has built and led SOC operations protecting more than 80 defense-focused enterprises.

He is the architect behind Summit 7’s MSSP practice, which he built from the ground up. His technical strengths include Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, and ELK stack integrations; Python automation; application allowlisting; and real-time threat intelligence for highly regulated environments. He also brings deep compliance expertise in CMMC, NIST 800-171, and other federal cybersecurity frameworks.

Prior to Summit 7, Patrick held cybersecurity leadership roles in manufacturing and fintech, where he led security architecture and compliance initiatives. Earlier in his career, he served for nearly a decade in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear-trained electrician and engineering watch supervisor, supporting critical power, control, and security systems aboard fast-attack submarines and training vessels.
