Ian Washburn

Ian Washburn is the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Information Security at the University of Notre Dame, where he has spent more than a decade working in higher education cybersecurity. His work focuses on building strong, practical security programs that support teaching, research, and institutional missions. In addition to his role at Notre Dame, Ian serves as a CISO Security Consultant with REN-ISAC, collaborating with peers to share intelligence and help organizations strengthen their security practices. He is also an active supporter of the B-Sides cybersecurity community, contributing to conferences that emphasize learning, connection, and collaboration across all sectors of the industry.
