Upwind Security secures $250 million to enhance cloud security

As reported by Silicon Angle, Upwind Security, a startup focused on securing public cloud environments, has announced the successful closure of a $250 million Series B funding round.

The funding round, led by Bessemer with participation from Salesforce Ventures and Picture Capital, follows a period of substantial growth for Upwind, with the company reporting an over 900% revenue increase. Upwind's platform utilizes eBPF technology and built-in cloud telemetry to detect malicious activity by correlating data and providing granular insights into breaches. It generates incident timelines, identifies attacker tactics, and offers automated remediation playbooks. The platform also integrates with CI/CD systems to identify vulnerabilities in code before deployment, scans infrastructure-as-code files, and detects configuration changes that violate regulations. It maps software interactions and identifies risks like unauthorized AI agent access, while also filtering false positives to prioritize critical threats.

This substantial funding will enable Upwind to expand its feature set, particularly in pre-production vulnerability detection for developers, and grow its go-to-market and customer service teams.
