South Korea's National Police Agency has announced the arrest of four individuals accused of breaching over 120,000 network-connected home and business cameras as part of a sexploitation scheme, the BBC reports.

According to authorities, the suspects exploited poorly secured Internet Protocol cameras installed in places ranging from private homes to karaoke rooms, a pilates studio, and a gynecologists clinic. Investigators said the four acted independently and were not working together.

One suspect is accused of hacking 63,000 cameras and creating more than 500 illegal videos, while another allegedly accessed 70,000 cameras and produced over 600 videos. Police are working with foreign agencies to identify the operator of the website.

"IP camera hacking and illegal filming inflict immense suffering on victims and are therefore serious offences. We will eradicate them through vigorous investigations," said National Police Agency Cyber Investigation Chief Park Woo-hyun. Authorities also arrested three people suspected of purchasing and watching material from the site.
