Security mailing list Full Disclosure suspended indefinitely

Full Disclosure, a mainstay mailing list in the security industry, has been indefinitely suspended by its operators.

On Wednesday, researcher John Cartwright, one of the creators of the list where researchers shared information about exploits and security concerns, announced its closure in a message entitled, “Administrivia: The End.”

After years of dealing with everything from legal issues to internet trolling and attacks, “the straw that broke the camel's back” for the 12-year-old list, stemmed from an unnamed researcher in the community, Cartwright wrote.

He didn't divulge the specifics on what unfolded, but apparently it involved a request to delete a large amount of information posted to the list. In closing, Cartwright also offered that there was “no real community” in the industry, and “no honour amongst hackers anymore.”
