Searchlight Cyber launches ransomware file explorer to identify data on leak sites

Searchlight Cyber Ltd. has released Ransomware File Explorer, a new capability for its Cerberus investigation platform. This tool offers direct, searchable visibility into file-tree data published on ransomware leak sites, enabling organizations to quickly identify exposed sensitive documents, personally identifiable information, or intellectual property, as reported by Silicon Angle.

The Ransomware File Explorer allows security and incident-response teams to rapidly identify potentially compromised files without directly accessing malicious ransomware archives. This feature enables preemptive detection of third-party or supply-chain exposure, even when an organization is not the direct victim of a ransomware attack.

By securely ingesting and indexing file-tree data from various ransomware group leak sites, the platform allows for rapid file name searches and automated alerts. This accelerates incident response by assessing exposure early, even when partners or suppliers have not disclosed a breach.
