Salt Security launches AI-powered interface for API protection

Salt Security Inc. has introduced "Ask Pepper AI," a new generative artificial intelligence-powered natural language interface for its API Protection Platform. This service leverages Amazon Bedrock to simplify API security operations, enabling security professionals and developers to query their API landscape using plain English and receive immediate, actionable insights, according to a recent report by Silicon Angle.

Ask Pepper AI addresses the common challenge of security teams being overwhelmed by data and lacking clear visibility in complex cloud environments. A recent survey by Salt Security revealed that only 19% of organizations are highly confident in their API inventory accuracy and 15% admit they don't know which APIs expose personally identifiable information. The new interface allows users to ask direct questions like "What APIs have the highest Risk Score?" or "Which of my APIs expose PII?", democratizing access to critical security data. It integrates with Salt Security's core use cases: API Discovery, Posture Governance, and Threat Protection, accelerating incident response and risk prioritization.

The launch of Ask Pepper AI highlights a growing trend toward AI-driven solutions in cybersecurity, aiming to make complex security data more accessible and actionable for a wider range of professionals.
