Poll sheds light on cloud security challenges

Sixty-eight percent of more than 400 respondents reported being bullish that their organizations have adopted adequate cloud security measures but 24% noted being unconfident regarding their organizations' cloud security, compared with only 8% who felt "highly" confident, according to Threatpost. While 59% reported that they adopted a shared-responsibility model for public cloud implementations, such an idea was not understood by 25% of respondents, while most plan but have yet to implement zero-trust for access management, a Threatpost survey revealed. Moreover, misconfigurations and data exposure were named as primary cloud deployment threats. Account compromise and stolen cloud credentials were cited as the most concerning cloud security threats, followed by API flaws, advanced cloud provider attacks, ransomware attacks, cyberespionage, distributed denial-of-service, malware, and cryptojacking. Meanwhile, most have reported using multifactor authentication to secure their cloud systems. Most respondents have also been planning to invest on data encryption, as well as planning to upgrade user-behavior analytics, according to the poll.
