Cryptocurrency wallet Atomic Wallet has been reported by blockchain investigator ZachXBT to have lost more than $35 million due to a software breach, reports BleepingComputer.
Reports of cryptocurrency theft were initially made by Atomic Wallet users on the morning of June 3 but crypto security researcher Tay said that transactions of stolen Atomic Wallet assets began the day before. Atomic Wallet has announced that it is still investigating the incident alongside security firms, emphasizing that nothing has been confirmed.
However, the "get.atomicwallet.io" download server has already been taken down amid breach concerns.
"Support team is collecting victim addresses. Reached out to major exchanges and blockchain analytics companies to trace and block the stolen funds," said Atomic Wallet in a tweet.
Individuals who have been reported being impacted by the incident have been sought by Atomic Wallet for information regarding their devices' operating systems, software download source, and backup phrase storage location.
