Research from German security firm cyscon GmbH has revealed that 70 percent of internet users in the U.K. are using an outdated web browsers, leaving them more vulnerable to malware scams, according to a blog post on the Check and Secure website, a security campaign run by cyscon GmbH.
At particular risk of attack are those using Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera. The security project found that 46 percent of Internet Explorer users in the U.K., comprising 9.2. percent of the country's users, have not completely updated the browser.
Among the plugins generating the greatest risk are Java and Adobe Acrobat, where 47 percent and 27 percent of users, respectively, have not completed the most recent updates.
U.K. users weren't the worst offenders, though. That honor goes to Denmark where 81 percent don't have fully updated browsers, the research showed.
