Ohio inmate caught with prison administrative login credentials

An Ohio inmate was caught on Friday with administrative login credentials for the computer system at Lebanon Correctional Intuition. The staff found a list containing usernames and passwords during a routine search at the facility, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

A spokesman with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, told the Dispatch there is no evidence of a breach at Lebanon or any other prisons and that the inmate will stay in restrictive housing during the investigation. The prison has implemented new information security measures as a precaution.

Officials did not say if the inmate was able to access any information using the credentials. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident to learn how the information was obtained and if any criminal violations were committed. 

State prisoners have limited access to computers in prison libraries.
