Authorities in North Macedonia have filed charges against the alleged administrator of OLVX, a cybercrime marketplace that sold stolen personal data and malicious tools since 2023. The 20-year-old suspect is accused of computer fraud, misuse of personal data, and production and distribution of child sexual abuse material, based on information published by cyberscoop.
The FBI provided intelligence to North Macedonian authorities, leading to a joint investigation that dismantled the OLVX platform. Officials stated the marketplace's sales exceeded $500,000, with a seized server containing over 2,600 customer accounts. The FBI Cyber Division highlighted that the marketplace directly endangered the digital security of thousands of American citizens. The suspect, identified as "E.A.," is accused of offering more than 1,500 sets of stolen credentials for sale and administering domains associated with OLVX. The investigation also revealed the suspect allegedly ran an online group on Telegram selling illegal services and software to facilitate cybercrime, including fraudulent refund schemes. This operation marks the first coordinated cyber operation between the FBI and North Macedonia.
