Mozilla plans to tap an elite set of security professionals to create a “concrete agenda” for addressing "threat vectors to online security," the company announced.
The Cyber Security Delphi research and recommendation initiative will pick the brains of 50 participants from 10 disciplines, including a mix of computer security, network security, cryptography, data security and application security specialists, as well as security professionals from industry and public sector groups skilled in handling cyber security vulnerabilities and threats.
Mozilla, which recently participated in the Reset the Net campaign to improve security against surveillance, expects the Delphi study to deliver a report and “substantive” recommendations in the fall, which will improve and reform internet security.
Mozilla has already put together an advisory board that includes experts from Johns Hopkins, Princeton University, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Verisign.
