According to IT Pro, Microsoft has confirmed that a recent Windows 11 update, KB501650, has been temporarily blocked for certain Dell personal computers. This action was taken due to identified compatibility and performance issues that could negatively impact user experience.

The update, released on July 14, was halted after reports indicated that a number of Dell devices displayed a yellow exclamation point next to the Intel Innovation Platform Framework Processor Participant driver in Device Manager. Microsoft stated this incompatibility, stemming from an issue between the Intel driver and the new Windows USB-C Connection Manager interface, could lead to unexpected shutdowns, reduced performance, increased heat, and battery drain on affected Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2.

Both Microsoft and Dell are collaborating to resolve the problem, with Microsoft anticipating a fix within the next few days. The exact number of affected devices and specific models have not yet been disclosed.
