Malwarebytes integrates with ChatGPT to combat online scams

ChatGPT chatbot by OpenAI - artificial intelligence

Malwarebytes has launched a new integration with ChatGPT, allowing users to quickly check for potential scams directly within the AI chat interface. This collaboration aims to provide immediate assistance for suspicious messages, URLs, domains, and phone numbers, making online safety more accessible. The new tool is available to all ChatGPT users, based on information published by Tech Radar.

The integration allows users to ask Malwarebytes directly within ChatGPT, "Malwarebytes, is this a scam?" The AI will then analyze submitted content, including text messages, emails, direct messages, links, and domains, to determine their authenticity. This initiative comes as AI tools are increasingly used by malicious actors to create convincing scam campaigns, contributing to a global scam economy estimated to have stolen $442 billion last year. By leveraging Malwarebytes' threat expertise within a widely used AI platform, the goal is to disrupt this industry by offering a free and easy-to-use verification method.
