Lauri Love rearrested in U.K.

Lauri Love, an Englishman accused of hacking into the U.S. Army, NASA and the Federal Reserve, was re-arrested on Wednesday on an extradition warrant.

The Guardian reports that the warrant alleges offenses under the Computer Misuse Act and that Love has been indicted in Virginia, New Jersey and New York. He was originally arrested in October 2013 and released on bail.

Love is currently released on conditional bail before he has a full extradition hearing on September 1.

The U.K. updated its Computer Misuse Act in May, which now allows for life in prison if a person committed an “unauthorized act” when they knew it was unauthorized. The person must have also known that it would cause “serious damage” to “human welfare or to national security,” or have been “reckless as to whether such harm was caused.”
