Hillary Clinton’s private server use didn’t endanger national security, Obama says

Share

President Barack Obama said on “60 Minutes” this past weekend that Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server was “a mistake,” but posed no danger to national security.

He continued that the controversy over the server has been “ginned-up” by Republicans seeking for a political attack to keep her from winning the 2016 presidential election, according to The New York Times.

“As a general proposition, when we're in these offices, we have to be more sensitive and stay as far away from the line as possible when it comes to how we handle information, how we handle our own personal data,” Obama said. “And, you know, she made a mistake. She has acknowledged it.”

Clinton's private server use has spurred plenty of conversation about government rules surrounding private servers and private email use while discussing government information.

Earlier this month, the AP reported that international hacking teams attempted to gain access to her server.
