Google releases Chrome update to fix high-risk security bug

Google on Wednesday updated its Chrome web browser to address a high-severity vulnerability that could allow for the execution of arbitrary code. The update, Chrome 15.0.874.121, is available for Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame platforms, and fixes an out-of-bounds write bug in the Chrome V8 JavaScript engine. As part of its vulnerability rewards program, Google paid $1,000 to security researcher Christian Holler for reporting the bug. This is the second security update Google has issued for Chrome in the past week. Last Thursday, the internet giant released Chrome 15.0.874.120, fixing seven flaws, five of which were marked as high-impact.
