Alex Mandl has been appointed non-executive chairman of the board for Gemalto, makers of digital security solutions such as smart cards and tokens. Mandl previously served as executive chairman of the board and prior to that, held the role of president and chief executive officer of Gemplus, another smart card provider. Gemalto also has partnered with Valimo, maker of mobile authentication solutions, to create an integrated product.
