Fortinet pushes cybercrime collaboration at WEF

Fortinet is participating in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, championing cross-sector collaboration and new incentive models to combat the global cybercrime ecosystem, according to Security Brief Australia.

As a founding member of the WEF's Centre for Cybersecurity, the company will feature in a panel discussion on fostering intelligence sharing through "methodical incentivisation, accountability, and deterrence." Derek Manky, Fortinet's Chief Security Strategist, will join leaders from Europol and the Cyber Threat Alliance to explore initiatives like Fortinet's recently launched Cybercrime Bounty program, a partnership with Crime Stoppers International designed to financially disrupt criminal markets. Fortinet's involvement extends to other WEF-aligned efforts such as the Partnership Against Cybercrime and the Cybercrime Atlas initiative, alongside collaborations with NATO, INTERPOL, and industry groups.

Manky emphasized that "building alliances continues to be one of the most effective actions" for public and private sectors to share intelligence and collectively disrupt threats. Beyond enforcement, the company will also highlight cyber skills development through its training institute, aligning with the forum's focus on the strategic talent needed to address evolving risks from AI and quantum computing.
