Forcepoint adds AI assistant to security platform

Forcepoint has upgraded its Data Security Cloud platform with an AI assistant and a redesigned endpoint agent to help organizations manage risks from generative AI and expanding data environments, reports Security Brief United Kingdom.

The update introduces ARIA, or Adaptive Risk Intelligence Assistant, which uses natural-language prompts to help security teams create and refine data protection policies while identifying gaps when new AI tools are adopted without proper safeguards. ARIA analyzes information across the platform to generate recommendations and explanations for administrators, and can apply policy updates across endpoints, cloud services, and collaboration platforms from a single interface.

The release also includes a next-generation endpoint agent that inspects data locally on devices, allowing policy enforcement without routing traffic through remote proxies. Forcepoint said the agent can manage access to approved AI applications while blocking sensitive information from being entered into unsanctioned tools or personal cloud storage. CEO Ryan Windham said AI has transformed how information flows inside organizations, increasing the need for real-time visibility and controls that move as quickly as data itself.
