According to Security Affairs, Germany's national rail operator, Deutsche Bahn, experienced a significant distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that severely impacted its IT systems. The cyberattack, which lasted for several hours, disrupted essential booking and information services for passengers. The cyberattack on Deutsche Bahn commenced on February 17 and continued into February 18, rendering critical systems such as bahn.de and the DB Navigator app inaccessible. This disruption led to service interruptions and delays for travelers. The rail operator has since reported that its systems have largely stabilized. The perpetrators and their motives behind the attack remain unknown. However, the incident highlights the vulnerability of critical infrastructure to cyber threats, a concern previously raised by attacks attributed to pro-Russian hacktivist groups targeting European entities.Source: Security Affairs
