More than 500,000 individuals had their data compromised following a cyberattack at Adaptive Health Integrations, a healthcare billing services firm in North Dakota, KVRR reports. Threat actors have attacked Adaptive Health Integrations on Oct. 17, 2021, impacting 510,574 people, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Adaptive Health Integrations said the intrusion, which was reported to federal authorities this month, involved unauthorized access to limited data within its systems. "Upon learning of the issue, we contained the threat by disabling unauthorized access to our network and commenced a prompt and thorough investigation with assistance from external cybersecurity professionals," said the company. Individuals affected by the breach may have had their names, birthdates, contact information, and Social Security numbers compromised. However, "this incident does not affect all Adaptive Health Integrations patients and not all information was included for all individuals," added the company, which has already opened its hotline to respond to queries involving the incident.
