Darwinium updates mobile SDKs to detect in-session fraud and account farming

A glowing red exclamation point inside a glowing red triangle on a glowing red digital background

Silicon Angle reports that Darwinium UK Ltd. has released updates to its Android and iOS mobile software development kits, introducing continuous in-session detection capabilities for remote access scams, screen-sharing manipulation, and device tricks used in large-scale account farming.

The updated SDKs are designed for banks, payment providers, and digital businesses facing sophisticated fraud that occurs after initial authentication. Unlike traditional fraud platforms that validate trust at single moments like login or payment, Darwinium's approach monitors for threats that unfold mid-session. The new features can detect live calls on collaboration tools such as Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, distinguishing between benign screen sharing and malicious remote access. For account farming, the SDKs identify techniques like app cloning, repackaged apps, multiple user profiles on a single device, and GPS spoofing. They also include emulator detection for iOS apps on macOS.

Banks in Southeast Asia are already utilizing these capabilities to combat mule networks, with one customer linking over 10,000 mule accounts to their devices. These updates integrate into Darwinium's edge-based decisioning platform, providing real-time integrity data to its risk engine.
