Cyber intrusion disrupts Russian security systems provider Delta

Russian alarm and security systems provider Delta had its services disrupted following a massive coordinated cyberattack attributed to a foreign actor, resulting in widespread outages that reportedly broke the functionality of home, business, and vehicle alarms, reports The Record, a news site by cybersecurity firm Recorded Future.

Imminent threat of subsequent intrusions has slowed ongoing efforts to restore backups, according to Delta, which emphasized that none of its customers' information had been compromised as a result of the incident. However, an archive containing data allegedly pilfered from Delta's systems has been published on a Telegram channel purportedly operated by the firm's hackers.

Delta's disclosure of the cyber intrusion comes as Russian airlines' booking and check-in systems were impacted by a sweeping IT outage, which authorities have associated with a technical issue at Sirena-Travel. Sirena-Travel had its Leonardo flight reservation system breached by threat actors three years ago.
