DarkComet RAT resurfaces in fake Bitcoin wallet

According to HackRead, cybercriminals have revived the old DarkComet Remote Access Trojan (RAT), embedding it in a counterfeit Bitcoin wallet or trading program to target unsuspecting cryptocurrency users.

The DarkComet RAT allows hackers to seize full control of a victim's computer, enabling activities like keylogging, file theft, webcam surveillance and remote desktop access. Disguised within a file named "94k BTC wallet.exe," the malware uses packing techniques to evade detection.

This incident underscores the persistent threat posed by repurposed malware in the cryptocurrency realm. Users are urged to exercise caution and obtain digital currency tools from reputable sources to mitigate risks.
