San Francisco-based telecommunications company Credo Mobile has released a transparency report detailing the number of government requests it received last year for customer data.
On Wednesday, the small mobile service provider made the report available and, in doing, became the first telecom company to release a transparency report.
Major carriers Verizon and AT&T said reports from its companies would come early this year – but the public still awaits the findings.
In its report, Credo revealed that it received 16 government requests for customer information in 2013, and that it turned over “some or all” of the data requested in 14 of the instances.
Credo said that it didn't turn over the content of customers' cellular communications (for instance, via wiretaps) at any point last year.
