As reported by Silicon Angle, Cato Networks has launched a new capability called Cato Agentic Threat Prevention, designed to proactively defend against sophisticated cyberattacks. This feature utilizes autonomous agents to predict and preemptively block an attacker's likely movements within a customer's network.

The new capability operates on Cato's cloud-native platform, leveraging existing network and security telemetry. It aims to counter the increasing speed and scale of AI-powered attacks, where vulnerabilities can be weaponized within hours and campaigns can target thousands of environments simultaneously. Shlomo Kramer, CEO of Cato Networks, stated that traditional security measures are insufficient against these advanced threats, emphasizing that "prediction is the new prevention."

The agents analyze customer activity, threat intelligence, and network data to map risks across users, applications, and traffic patterns. By predicting potential attack paths, Cato generates and enforces tailored protections for individual environments before an attack can progress, the company said.
