BuzzFeed hacked by OurMine

Following its exposé accusing OurMine of web defacements, the website BuzzFeed was itself hit, according to The Verge.

In an Oct. 4 report, BuzzFeed wrote that OurMine was a nuisance that lacked a clear agenda and "has variously claimed to be raising awareness of security problems and to be charging for its security services."

Apparently in retaliation, a number of posts on the news site were altered on Tuesday. Titles of several posts were changed to read “Hacked by OurMine,” and body copy was replaced in a number of stories with a note not to “share fake news about us again.”

The self-proclaimed "elite hacking group" also claimed to have attained the site's database with a warning that it might publish it.

Previously, OurMine took credit for several hacks of social media sites, claiming it usurped accounts from the CEOs of Facebook, Google and Twitter, as well as the website of Variety.

OurMine's website offers "top notch vulnerability assessment."
