Broadcom has unveiled new cybersecurity and compliance capabilities for VMware Cloud Foundation, targeting private cloud deployments in heavily regulated sectors, Security Brief New Zealand reports.

The company introduced VMware Cloud Foundation Advanced Cyber Compliance, along with upgrades to VMware vDefend and Avi Load Balancer, to help enterprises address rising cyber threats, regulatory hurdles, and emerging risks tied to artificial intelligence workloads. Paul Turner, VP of Products for Broadcom’s VCF division, said the updates deliver a unified approach to "infrastructure hardening, threat prevention, compliance, and cyber recovery," reducing the complexity of siloed tools.

Key features include continuous compliance enforcement via automated monitoring and patching, advanced recovery capabilities with clean-room environments, and secure container images for improved platform protection. vDefend enhancements focus on Zero Trust security for AI environments, improved fileless malware detection, and new network-wide visibility through NDR sensors.

Updates to Avi Load Balancer introduce post-quantum cryptography, mTLS for Kubernetes, and WAF-based protection, helping organizations mitigate threats and meet strict compliance demands.
