Offensive security vendor Bishop Fox has secured $46 million in growth funding, which will be allocated toward strengthening its Cosmos platform that performs automated application penetration tests to improve attack surface security, VentureBeat reports.
Such a platform could better adapt to the continuous evolution of attack surfaces brought upon by the increasing adoption of cloud, Internet of Things, and software-as-a-service systems, as well as agile technologies, according to Bishop Fox CEO Vinnie Liu.
"Armed with the latest tactics and technologies, adversaries are taking advantage of this weakness and targeting exposures and exploiting vulnerabilities faster than security teams can keep up. As the saying goes, bad guys only need to be right once, while good guys need to be right every time," said Liu.
While other vendors, such as CyCognito and Randori, have also been offering solutions similar to Cosmos, only Bishop Fox's product could provide real-time tester access, which enables immediate responses to queries, impact analysis, and remediation procedures, Liu added.
