Barrett Brown showed up in a federal courtroom in Dallas Tuesday for sentencing on charges of threatening an FBI agent in a YouTube video and misdemeanor obstruction, only to learn after several hours of oral arguments that his sentencing would be postponed until January 22, according to Twitter posts.
“Just stepped out to let everyone know Brown won't be sentenced today,” tweeted @FreeBarrett_. “Court has too much to review to decide.”
Brown, a writer and activist known as a public face of the hacktivist collective Anonymous, has been jailed for two years on charges related to sharing a link to a dump of credit card numbers in the breach of intelligence firm Stratfor.
In March federal prosecutors moved to moved to dismiss 11 counts previously filed against Brown.
