Apple on Wednesday released a new version of Mac OS X, 10.7.3 (Lion), to address nearly 50 security vulnerabilities. The update comes with a fresh version of Safari -- 5.1.3 -- and includes fixes for a slew of platform component bugs, which, if exploited, could lead to the execution of malicious code. The update also corrects other issues, including problems using smart cards to login to the OS X, authenticating to an SMB share, and connecting to a wireless network upon waking the computer up from sleep mode.
