The AI Information Sharing and Analysis Center, which was introduced as part of the Trump administration's AI strategy, was noted by Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to be under "ongoing policy dialogue" among stakeholders, Nextgov/FCW reports. No official timelines on the launch of AI-ISAC, which will identify and alert all members about any potential cybersecurity threats related to AI technologies under the purview of the Department of Homeland Security, have been provided amid a review of the proposal. Both government and industry are currently working on collecting the necessary resources for the center to operate, as well as the methods to do this without duplicating existing innovations or public sharing programs.Although the conversations are ongoing, it has become clear how challenging it will be to put into place an effective government-sponsored initiative that involves both public and private sectors with appropriate mechanisms to facilitate the rapid sharing of threat, vulnerability, and incident reports."We just want to make sure we've got the right elements of, how do we pull together people, and how do we take advantage of the leadership position that we have," said Andersen.
